The Piston & Ring building, part of our 12th Avenue Marketplace project, was built in 1926 and is a classic example of the tall three-bay design typical of many automotive buildings of its era. Our renovation and expansion in 2006 restored the storefront and inserted a number of new elements including a mezzanine, a central lobby and stair, a daylight lower level and, at the back of the building, a dramatic two-story window wall looking onto a two-level outdoor terrace. The building is now home to Osteria La Spiga, Café Stellina, Izilla Toys and Graham Baba Architects.
